FALL 2016 READING LIST

Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness – Sci-fi genre – This is the second book in A Discovery of Witches series.  Witches and vampires and forbidden love.  Sigh!  My good friend Veronica (who is a book nerd like me…love you girl!!) got me started on this series.  She kept telling me you gotta read A Discovery of Witches.  It’s so good.  I read the first book and was instantly hooked on the story.  I’m ready to dive into this second one!

True Believer by Nicholas Sparks – Romance genre – For the most part I really like Nicholas Sparks books.  I got hooked on them when I saw The Notebook.  I read several of his before I actually read The Notebook and to be honest I was glad it went that way because I really am not a fan of the book.  I know I’m probably in the 1% of the population to say that, but it just was….well, boring I guess.  Sorry Mr. Sparks!  Maybe my expectation was too high because the movie was so good??

Cold Light by Jenn Ashworth – Suspense/Mystery genre – Sometimes I buy a book based on a cover.  I really like the cover of this one.  There is just something mysterious in the face of that young lady!  While it didn’t get the best reviews online from people who read it, that’s ok!  Sometimes I have a different take on a book then those who did the review (case in point….The Notebook haha).

A Love Worth Giving by Max Lucado – Religious genre – I love the Lord and I love to read books that get me closer to Him.  This one says “Living in the overflow of God’s love”.  There is nothing more awesome than God’s love and I have yet to read a Max Lucado book I didn’t like.  He is very uplifting.

One Month To Live by Kerry and Chris Shook – 30-day devotional – I watch Kerry Shook on TBN daily (well I watch a ton of people on there because if I am alone while working I have it on pretty much all day long).  I get a ton out of his sermons and really look forward to this devotional.  It says it is “30 days to a no-regrets life”.   Who doesn’t want that!?!?!
